Although the new engine is 2.8 and not the 3.0 turbo-diesel that was used in previous models the truck became more powerful, producing up to 177 horses, six more than its predecessor, the torque also increased considerably, growing 22% higher, getting now with 42.9 Nm in this manual transmission setup, as the automatic transmission torque is 45.8 Nm.

The new version of the Hilux promises to please even those most demanding consumers, because inside this more technological, comfortable and smart, all being controlled by a central multimedia of 7 inches, which provides various information to the driver, safety features have also been improved, with main emphasis on the Air-bags, strategically installed and approved in several crash tests.
